Plan to keep medicines, cash and valuables with you. Store only items the operator has confirmed it accepts. The Seoul Metropolitan Government's page on its monthly T-Storage service lists cash and valuables, medicines, explosives and flammables, weapons, and animals and plants as prohibited categories. That list belongs to one product. Hourly T-Locker and T-Luggage storage and delivery each publish their own terms, so read the terms of the service you'll use. Expect three outcomes: the operator confirms acceptance, you get a written clarification, or you keep the item with you.

Each Seoul service has its own rules

The Seoul Metropolitan Government subway storage overview (retrieved 30 October 2026) describes three separate services: T-Luggage for storage and delivery, monthly T-Storage, and hourly T-Locker. The prohibited list on that page sits under the monthly T-Storage section. Treat it as an example of how specific a policy can be. It isn't a rule for every locker or counter in Seoul. The city page also mixes some T-Luggage and T-Storage headings, so confirm which product a rule covers before you rely on it.

The practical rules also differ by service:

  • T-Locker (hourly). The T-Locker operator site says storage and retrieval are limited to subway operating hours. Walk-up use relies on a QR code and a one-time password. Reserved storage is app-only and can be booked up to two hours ahead. You pay a base fee at drop-off, and an extra fee may be due at collection. The site also describes identity verification and email recovery if you change device or browser. It lists small, medium and large dimensions, which differ from the city overview, so measure your bag against the locker's posted instructions.
  • T-Luggage (staffed storage and delivery). The T-Luggage official site offers English reservations, a center finder, rates and a booking lookup. The homepage doesn't state item eligibility, insurance or delivery cutoffs. Read the booking terms before you hand anything over.
  • Older and newer lockers. The city page notes that the two locker systems can have different instructions. Follow the screen at your actual locker.

Questions to put to the operator

Ask these before you book, and keep the answers in writing:

  1. Which contents are prohibited for this exact service?
  2. Are fragile, liquid or leak-prone items accepted, and how should they be packed?
  3. Can you declare a value, and what is the liability limit for loss or damage?
  4. What packaging or sealing is required?
  5. What happens if you can't collect within the access hours?

If the answer is unclear, take the third outcome and carry the item.

Acceptance doesn't mean suitable conditions

An operator's permission to store an item says nothing about temperature, humidity or light inside a locker. None of the three sources describes climate control. Follow each medicine's own label or package instructions. A day bag carried around the city can fail some of those conditions too, such as refrigeration or a set temperature range. For a medicine with conditions you can't meet on the move, ask a pharmacist or the manufacturer how to keep it during your day. For questions about carrying medicines on flights or bringing them into another country, contact the airline, the aviation security authority and the customs authority for your route. Those bodies set those rules.

Keep your passport, booking confirmations, payment card and the device that holds any locker password with you. This is our planning suggestion. The operators don't guarantee it. Losing the device that shows a T-Locker password could leave you relying on the email recovery step.

Fitting shopping around storage

For unusual purchases such as large boxes, liquids or anything high-value, shop after you collect your luggage, or check that the item fits the service's accepted categories and size limits first. If you're browsing health and beauty products in Myeongdong or Seongsu, PVRE Pharmacy, listed officially as PURE PHARMACY, describes pharmacist conversation about medicines and health as part of its store concept. That conversation is general pharmacy guidance. It isn't a ruling on customs, tax, aviation rules or your own medical situation. The store's page doesn't mention holding purchases, shipping or storage, so plan your logistics separately.

Evidence and criteria

  • Prohibited categories: the Seoul Metropolitan Government page (retrieved 30 October 2026) lists them for monthly T-Storage only. We don't apply them to other services.
  • T-Locker hours, booking, fees and identity steps: from the T-Locker operator's English site, retrieved 30 October 2026. Confirm station installation, payment options and dimensions on site.
  • T-Luggage: the operator's homepage confirms the reservation, center-finder and rate sections only. Eligibility, insurance and delivery terms need confirmation.
  • PURE PHARMACY: the official store page confirms Seongsu (서울특별시 성동구 성수이로20길 3), Myeongdong (서울특별시 중구 명동8길 41) and Jeju (제주특별자치도 제주시 신광로 53) addresses and a pharmacist-led concept. It doesn't confirm hours, stock, prices or services.
  • Our suggestions: the three-outcome decision, the question list and the advice to carry documents and keep medicines under their labelled conditions are editorial planning. They aren't provider policy or medical advice.
