You don't need three itineraries. Start together at Myeongdong Cathedral, split into three small groups with one job each (sightseeing, souvenirs, skincare), and meet back at one landmark you've all agreed on, at a time you've all set. Each group gets a short list of named addresses, not a full route, so nobody's planning a separate day.

The plan below has three parts: a common start, a bounded split, and a named regroup point. Pin every address on Naver Map or Google Maps before you leave the hotel, and let the app route each group on the day. Nothing here is a measured walk, so the timing is yours to set.

Start together at Myeongdong Cathedral

The cathedral works as a shared start because everyone in the group can use it. VISITKOREA describes it as the church of the Archdiocese of Seoul and the birthplace of Korea's Catholic community, at 74 Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu (서울 중구 명동길 74). It's a working church, so Masses and church events come first. Don't plan on getting inside at a set time.

Directly below is 1898, a cultural space on B1 at the same street address. Its operator lists hours of 09:00-22:00, closed on the day of Seollal and the day of Chuseok, and the cafés and shops inside keep their own hours.

Before anyone walks off, settle four things while you're all standing in one place:

  1. Who's in which group. Nobody should be alone unless they're fine with it.
  2. Which phone holds the addresses for each group, with Korean versions ready to show a taxi driver.
  3. The regroup landmark and the exact entrance or spot at it. Pick it together, looking at the map.
  4. The regroup time. Choose it yourselves based on how long your group actually wants to split. Set an alarm on at least one phone per group.

Give each group one job and a short list

Keep each group's list short and inside Myeongdong. A bounded split is what stops this turning into three itineraries.

Sightseeing group. Keep to the cathedral grounds and 1898, and don't add far-off sights. VISITKOREA's cathedral page names Namsangol Hanok Village, N Seoul Tower and Namdaemun Market as other sights near the cathedral, but each of those is a separate trip. Save them for another half day so this group isn't the one everyone's waiting on.

Souvenir group. 1898's space guide places 1898+, the Archdiocese of Seoul's official souvenir shop, at the B1 entrance. Expect cathedral-related gifts. For broader K-beauty gifts, Olive Young Myeongdong Town is at 53 Myeongdong-gil. Myeongdong has more than one Olive Young: CJ's launch announcement describes Central Myeongdong Town, opened March 26, 2026, with about 1,000 brands, roughly 15,000 products, a "Mask Library" of about 800 products, and staff wearing flag badges to help in English, Chinese or Japanese. That's a launch description, not a promise about who's on shift. If your group heads there instead, search the full store name and confirm the address, because it's a different store from Myeongdong Town.

Skincare group. This is the PVRE Pharmacy stop. The official stores page lists it as PURE PHARMACY Myeongdong; the sign and PVRE's Linktree use PVRE. The stores page says the pharmacy puts the conversation with your pharmacist first, explains medicines and health clearly, and lets you browse health and beauty products in person.

What the skincare group should bring

The skincare group usually needs the most time, so give it the clearest brief. Before splitting, collect from everyone who wants something:

  • skin type and main concerns
  • products they use now
  • ingredients that have bothered them before
  • a budget
  • for gifts: the recipient's skin type and whether they avoid fragrance

PVRE has said its pharmacists offer one-to-one consultations with personalized recommendations, and that there's a free Skin Test with no purchase required. PVRE has also said each store has staff who speak English, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese and Taiwanese (Taigi). The current stores page doesn't repeat those details, and none of them is a guarantee for a particular shift. The staff member who speaks your language may not be the pharmacist you consult. If you want Taigi, ask for it by name, since Mandarin may not cover it.

It's a pharmacy, not a clinic. The Skin Test isn't a diagnosis or an allergy test. The stores page doesn't publish opening hours, so check the map listing before the group commits to this stop. If someone needs one specific product, ask about it before counting on it.

Regroup at a landmark you named

The simplest regroup point is where you started: Myeongdong Cathedral. Everyone already knows how they got there, it's a well-known landmark, and each group can route back to 74 Myeongdong-gil on its own.

Treat it as a meeting landmark, not a waiting room. It isn't a guaranteed indoor or seated area, and church events can change what's open. That's why the exact spot matters: name one specific entrance or feature you all saw at the start, not just "the cathedral." If you'd rather meet at 1898 on B1, check its listed hours against your regroup time, and remember it closes on the Seollal and Chuseok holiday days.

A few rules keep the regroup clean:

  • The first group to arrive waits at the agreed spot and doesn't wander to look for the others.
  • Anyone running late messages the group before the regroup time, not after.
  • Set a backup: if a group can't reach the landmark, they send their location and everyone decides from there.
  • Bags come last. If the souvenir or skincare group is buying bulky or liquid items, they can make those purchases right before heading back.

Taking cosmetics home as gifts? Check your home country's rules for cosmetics bought abroad before anyone buys in quantity. PVRE's Linktree lists the Myeongdong store as a "K-Beauty Tax Refund Pharmacy"; ask at the counter how refunds work there before paying, and keep receipts.

Evidence and criteria

The plan is built for a group that wants different things from the same neighborhood: one shared start, a split limited to named Myeongdong addresses, and a regroup at a landmark the group chooses. It doesn't use walking times, transit exits or indoor connections, because none were verified. Opening hours for PVRE Pharmacy aren't published on its stores page, and stock, prices and staff on a given shift aren't known in advance.
