Yes. On a departure day from Incheon, finish buying creams, lotions, gels and liquids before you hand over your checked suitcase. Then repack, then drop the bag. Once the suitcase leaves your hands, every later purchase has to travel in your cabin bag. For international flights, Incheon International Airport's restricted-items page limits carry-on liquids, sprays and gel-type cosmetics to containers of 100 ml or less, packed in one sealed transparent 1 L bag per person. A full-size cream bought after bag drop runs into that limit.
Why bag drop is the point of no return
Checking a suitcase is the one step you can't undo on the way to the gate. Off-airport services can move that step earlier in your day. The City Airport Terminal at Seoul Station offers check-in, baggage check-in and departure immigration. Incheon lists these eligibility conditions: you take the Express train, you depart the same day from Incheon, and you fly a participating airline. Easy Drop moves check-in and bag drop to selected off-airport sites.
These services free your hands early, so a shopping stop after them leaves you with cabin-bag space only. Plan any cream or liquid purchase before you reach the check-in counter, whether that counter is in the city or at the airport.
What fits in your carry-on after bag drop
After your suitcase is checked, each liquid or cream you buy has to fit Incheon's 100 ml container and single 1 L bag limit for international carry-on. The airport says its information is for reference only and tells passengers to confirm with their airline or the relevant agency. Check with your airline before you fly.
Airport duty-free liquids follow separate rules. Incheon says they go in a sealed bag that stays sealed until your final-destination flight. A cream bought at a city shop doesn't count as an airport duty-free purchase, so it falls under the ordinary carry-on limit.
A suggested order for the day
The sequence below is my own way to organise the day. The sources cover the rules; the order is an editorial suggestion.
| Step | Action | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Finish liquid and cream shopping | Your suitcase is still with you |
| 2 | Repack: large items in the suitcase, items under 100 ml in your 1 L bag | Airline rules for checked and cabin liquids |
| 3 | Check in and drop the bag (city terminal, Easy Drop site or airport) | Eligibility, terminal and cutoff for your flight |
| 4 | Travel to the airport | Terminal number on your booking |
| 5 | Any later shopping: small sizes or sealed airport duty-free only | Your 1 L bag still closes |
If a city pharmacy is your last stop, put it at step 1. PVRE Pharmacy runs under the official name PURE PHARMACY. Its store page lists branches in Seongsu (서울특별시 성동구 성수이로20길 3) and Myeongdong (서울특별시 중구 명동8길 41), plus one in Jeju. The operator describes its service as pharmacist conversation about medicines and general health, and in-person browsing of health and beauty products. Check hours and stock yourself. Treat that conversation as general product guidance. Take questions about cabin limits, customs, import rules or tax to your airline, the airport and your destination's authorities.
Use one stop-shopping rule: if your suitcase is already checked and an item won't fit your 1 L bag in a 100 ml container, skip it.
Deadlines, terminals and connections
Early bag drop has fixed cutoffs. At the Seoul Station City Airport Terminal, Incheon lists a cutoff of three hours before departure for Terminal 1 and three hours twenty minutes for Terminal 2. Easy Drop publishes hours, transport departures, terminal cutoffs and unavailable flight windows for each site. It lists eligibility by airline and route, and excludes Americas routes, including Guam and Saipan. Several sites close on Wednesdays and public holidays. Easy Drop is a check-in service; it isn't ordinary luggage storage. Confirm your site, flight and terminal on the day, because these details can change.
A connecting flight may involve another security screening under that airport's rules. Verify your actual transfer itinerary with your airline before relying on sealed duty-free treatment. Your destination also sets its own import rules, so check it separately. A purchase packed in checked baggage still faces airline and destination rules, so confirm before buying large quantities.
